Good evening students and parents,
This is Lauryn Duncan, Principal at Douglass Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.
Parents, Mrs. Peach and Mrs. James’ classes will be selling Bunny Tails beginning Monday, March 25 from 7:20-7:45 am in the clearstory. Bunny Tails are $1 and the last day to purchase a Bunny Tail is Wednesday, March 27. The proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated to Rockingham County Special Olympics.
Douglass Elementary PTO would like to invite all families to the Roll-A-Bout in Eden on Tuesday, March 26 from 5:30-7:30 pm for our Skate Night! Please remember that this is not a drop off event and an adult must accompany any student attending Skate Night.
Parents, please remember that per board policy there should be no tobacco use on campus. This includes the car rider line in the mornings and afternoons.
Parents, please remember that Thursday is an early release day and all students will be dismissed at 12:45 pm. If your child is a car rider please be sure their ride is here at 12:45 pm.. Also, please remember that Friday, March 29 begins our Spring Break. There will be no school Friday, March 29 through Friday, April 5. Students will return to school Monday, April 8.
Finally, mark your calendars, our Title 1 Move Up Night and Kindergarten registration event will be held Thursday, April 25. Grade level presentations will begin at 5:00 pm in classrooms. A chorus performance will follow the presentations. We look forward to having our families join us that night!
