Good evening students and parents,
This is Lauryn Duncan, Principal at Douglass Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.
Parents, we are excited about our Title 1 Move Up Night that is scheduled for Thursday, April 25th. Grade level presentations will begin at 5:30 pm in classrooms. We look forward to having our families join us for our final parent night of the 2023-2024 school year.
Mrs. James and Mrs. Peach’s classes will be selling gummy worms tomorrow morning, April 22 in the clerestory to celebrate Earth Day and to also help raise money for Rockingham County Special Olympics. Gummy worms are $1.
Parents, if you have a rising kindergartener, kindergarten registration is open. Douglass families will have an opportunity to meet our staff and tour a kindergarten classroom this Wednesday, April 24th from 8:00-4:00 pm and again on Thursday, April 25th from 3:00-6:00 pm. Our newest Eagles and families will have an opportunity to complete registration, tour the building and receive goodies. Please remember that your child must turn 5 on or before August 31. Wednesday, April 24 is National Administrative Professionals Day. We would like to say thank you to Ramona Trantham, Taylor Murray and Janear Johnson for ALL that they do to keep the office of Douglass Elementary running. If you see them this week please take a moment to say thank you!
