The New Douglass Elementary School broke ground May 10, 2010. The building is 77,442 square feet and the estimated cost at the time of construction was $14.5 million. Douglass meets silver LEED certification and has a state-of-the-art central heating and cooling system.

School Improvement Plan
The Douglass School Improvement team is a group of representatives who work together to implement continued growth and improvement at our school. This team is made up of teacher representatives from each grade level, support staff, parents and community members that each have a stake in our school. This team is elected by our staff to represent each stakeholder and they meet monthly to engage in dialog, create and work on our School Improvement Plan and implement programs or changes to improve our school.

Our School Improvement Team meets monthly starting at 3:00 in the media center. These meetings are open to the public and anyone can attend. Some meetings do include closed sessions that pertains directly to school safety and security. Dates are subject to change due to additional meetings or weather. Please see the list of dates below.
