Good evening students and parents,
This is Lauryn Duncan, Principal at Douglass Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.
Parents, please remember that if your child is sick and is vomiting or has a fever, our policy states that they cannot return to school until 24 hours later.
Parents, please remember that per board policy there should be no tobacco use on campus. This includes the car rider line in the mornings and afternoons.
Parents, please join us for the All County Art Show reception on March 22nd beginning at 5:00 pm. at Rockingham County Community College in the Whitcomb Student Center. Student artwork will be displayed in the Whitcomb Student Center beginning March 18th. We encourage our parents to visit the display of wonderful artwork created by our students.
If you have a rising kindergartener please join us this Tuesday, March 19th at Douglass Elementary beginning at 6:00 pm for a kindergarten 101 session. Mrs. June Nealy will present important information to parents of rising kindergarteners. Please remember that your child must turn 5 on or before August 31st.
Please remember that our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will be taking their Check Ins this week. Testing is scheduled to begin promptly at 8:30 am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning. Please be sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and arrives at school on time.
