Good Evening students and parents!
This is Lauryn Duncan, Principal at Douglass Elementary School with a few announcements for the week.
Doors will again open for all students this week at 7:20am and they may report directly to their classroom. Students wishing to eat breakfast in our cafeteria will do so before heading to their classroom. Parents, please know that our cafeteria stops serving breakfast at 7:45am. Our tardy bell rings at 7:50am each morning. Students arriving late to school must be signed in by a parent at our front desk. As you arrive, parents are encouraged to use our morning car line for easy drop off.
Our annual school wide fundraiser will continue this week. If your child would like to participate please send in a permission slip to school. Our chocolate bar fundraiser will end Wednesday, September 21. All money is due Friday, September 23.
Families, our kindergarten, preK and functional skills classes will continue learning colors this week. Help our kindergartners have fun by asking your child to wear pink on Monday, black on Tuesday, green on Wednesday, blue on Thursday, and red, white and blue on Friday.
Parents, our first Title 1 Parent Night will be Thursday, September 29 from 6:00-7:00pm. Please make plans to attend as you will receive information regarding the expectations of teaching and learning here at Doulgass Elementary school. Kona Ice will be here to help us enjoy our first parent night.
3rd Grade parents, your child will be taking the beginning of grade 3 assessment Wednesday, September 14. We will begin testing at 8:30am. Please be sure that your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats a good breakfast that morning.
Lastly, our PTO is continuing to sell Douglass Elementary t-shirts. Order forms have been sent home with your child. If you would like to order a t-shirt please be sure to turn in the order form with cash or check made payable to PTO of Douglass Elementary to your child’s teacher. We appreciate your support of Douglass Elementary school’s PTO.
Please enjoy the rest of your evening and we look forward to seeing you bright and early tomorrow morning.
