Good evening students and parents,

This is Lauryn Duncan, Principal at Douglass Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.

We will be recognizing our staff this week for Teacher Appreciation Week! Please be sure to thank your child’s teacher for all that they do each and every day! We want to thank our wonderful PTO for spoiling our staff each day with goodies!

Our final PTO meeting will be this Tuesday, May 9 beginning at 5:30 pm in the media center. Our PTO invites you to attend the meeting as they close out the school year..

Parents, please remember that per board policy there should be no tobacco use on campus. This includes the car rider line in the mornings and afternoons.

Special Olympics will be this Friday, May 12. We will be honoring our student athletes on Friday by wearing Douglass attire or blue. Staff and students will line the hallways to cheer on our athletes as they depart for the games and activities. Good luck to our athletes!

If you or someone you know is a parent of a rising kindergartener, this is just a reminder that the kindergarten registration window closes this Friday, May 12. If you have not had a chance to register your kindergartener and you reside in the Douglass Elementary school zone, please be sure to come to the school and register your child this week. Please remember that all rising kindergartners must turn 5 on or before August 31. We look forward to meeting our newest Douglass Eagles!
