Good Evening students and parents,

This is Lauryn Duncan, Principal at Douglass Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.

We will be celebrating Administrative Professionals Day on Monday. We would like to take this day to say thank you to our front office ladies, Ms. Johnson, Ms. Murray and Ms. Trantham. If you see them, please thank them for all they do for Douglass Elementary school each and every day.

Fifth grade parents, please remember that 5th graduation pictures are Tuesday, May 2. Pictures will begin at 8:00 am.

Parents, please remember that Wednesday, May 3 is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 12:45 pm. If your child is a car rider, please be sure their ride is here at 12:45 pm.

If you or someone you know is a parent of a rising kindergartener, we will be hosting a kindergarten registration event Thursday, May 4 beginning at 8:00 am until 6:00 pm. Please remember that the rising kindergartner must turn 5 on or before August 31. We look forward to meeting our newest Douglass Eagles!

Parents, we have our end of year awards assemblies scheduled. Please mark your calendars! Our kindergarten awards assembly will be Friday, June 2 beginning at 9:00 am. Our first grade awards assembly will be Monday, June 5 beginning at 9:00 am. Second grade awards assembly will be Monday, June 5 beginning at 1:00 pm. Our third grade awards assembly will be Tuesday, June 6 beginning at 9:00 am and our fourth grade awards assembly will be Tuesday, June 6 beginning at 1:00 pm. Finally, our 5th grade graduation and awards assembly is scheduled for Wednesday, June 7 beginning at 8:30 am.
