Good Evening students and parents,

This is Lauryn Duncan, Principal at Douglass Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.

Report cards will be sent home with your child Monday, April 3.

Our next PTO meeting will be this Tuesday, April 4 beginning at 5:30 pm in the media center. Our PTO invites you to attend the meeting as they will discuss plans for the remainder of the school year.

Parents, please remember that safety is our top priority, therefore if you utilize the parking lot during morning drop off please be sure to park in a parking spot.

Autism Awareness Day is Sunday, April 2. Douglass Elementary school invites all students and staff to wear blue on Monday, April 3 as a representation of uniqueness, inclusion and acceptance of our students and friends.

Also, mark your calendars, kindergarten registration will begin April 17. Douglass Elementary will host a kindergarten registration event on April 17 from 3:00-6:00 pm and on May 4 from 8:00-6:00 pm. More information about kindergarten registration is available in the front office.

Parents, Mrs. Peach and Mrs. James’ classes will be selling Easter grams beginning Monday, April 3 from 7:20-7:45 in the clearstory. Easter grams are $1 and the last day to purchase an Easter gram is Wednesday, April 5.

Please remember that Friday, April 7 is an optional teacher workday and there will be no school for students on Friday. Spring break is April 10-14. Students will return to school on Monday, April 17. We hope each of you have a wonderful spring break and Happy Easter!
