Good Evening students and parents! This is Lauryn Duncan, Principal at Douglass Elementary School calling with a few announcements for the week.

Doors will again open for all students this week at 7:20am and they may report directly to their classroom. Students wishing to eat breakfast in our cafeteria will do so before heading to their classroom. Parents, please remember that our cafeteria stops serving breakfast at 7:45am. Our tardy bell rings at 7:50am each morning. Students arriving late to school must be signed in by a parent at our front desk. Parents please remember to use the front crosswalk in the mornings to ensure the safety of you and your child.

Just a reminder, breakfast and lunch are no longer free of charge this year. The cost of breakfast is $2.25 and the cost of lunch is $3.25. If you are interested in completing a lunch form please visit our school website at douglasselementary.org and click on the lunch form link located on the homepage. Lunch accounts can be created and updated by visiting k12paymentcenter.com.

Book Fair begins Monday, September 26, 2022 and will be open throughout the week. Information about the Book Fair including how to set up an eWallet came home this week with your child. Please remember to have your student dress up like their favorite book character to kickoff the opening of the Book Fair.

Douglass Elementary PTO would like to invite all families to the Roll-A-Bout in Eden on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 5:30-7:30 pm for our first PTO Skate Night!

Title 1 Parent Curriculum Night is this Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 6:00-7:00. Our Book Fair will be open and we will have Kona Ice here for everyone to enjoy a sweet treat. Please refer to the pricing chart from Kona Ice on the invitation that was sent home with your child.

Parents, progress reports will be sent home with your child this week. Also, please remember that Friday, September 30, 2022 is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 12:45pm.

We hope you enjoy the rest of your evening and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning.
